Wilson’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor
Wilson’s is always at the top of our list, for several reasons. It’s an Ephraim institution, having been around since 1906 with its iconic red and white awning. Wilson’s also has ice cream flavors that you may not see at many other places — Deep Dish Apple Pie, Cookie Nut, and Frozen Tundra, to name a few!
Of course, there’s also the customary jellybean at the bottom of every Wilson’s cone, the home-brewed draft root beer, and the mouthwatering food menu.

Not Licked Yet Frozen Custard
While not technically Door County Ice Cream, this Fish Creek hot spot is known for its frozen custard, especially when it’s used in one of their one-of-a-kind sundaes. One of these is the “Potato Head” — vanilla frozen custard with peanut butter, hot caramel, and potato chips, topped with fresh whipped cream.
You might be tempted to eat one of these sundaes for lunch or dinner, but if you’re looking for something more substantial, you’ll find it in Not Licked Yet’s extensive menu of hamburgers and sandwiches.
Door County Ice Cream Factory & Sandwich Shop
Five miles from our resort just outside downtown Sister Bay, you’ll find a shop with super-premium ice cream made right in store. Door County Ice Cream Factory & Sandwich Shop has over thirty ice cream flavors and more than 15 sandwiches (all made to order, of course!) to choose from. Did we also mention they make their own caramel and hot fudge sauce?
Door County Creamery
Another frozen treat that isn’t technically Door County ice cream, but delicious all the same! The Door County Creamery’s smooth, silky gelato is handcrafted daily using fresh goat milk. A few of their one-of-a-kind flavors include Stracciatella (sweet cream and chocolate), Roasted Almond & Fig, Olive & Sea Salt, and Amarena Cherry. Enjoy a cup or take home a pint!
Grumpy’s Ice Cream & Popcorn
Located in Egg Harbor, Grumpy’s Ice Cream and Popcorn serves premium hand dipped Door County ice cream, draft root beer floats served in frozen mugs, and small batches of gourmet popcorn and fudge. Bonus: you’ll be able to sit back and relax on their outdoor patio while enjoying your sweet treat!
