Wedding Bells at Ephraim Shores

Today one of our long time guests is getting
married right here in Ephraim. Kara and her
family have been coming to stay with us since
Kara was very young and they have become
family here at Ephraim Shores. The marriage
will take place at the historic Ephraim Moravian,
which is Lana and Jolynn’s church. We are very
excited for them and happy that they chose
Ephraim and Ephraim Shores for their wedding
destination. Look for Kara and Art’s wedding
photo on a future blog.
On another note, Ephraim Shores and the
Second Story Restaurant are celebrating 40
years of business. We had a float in the 4th of
July parade celebrating this and Jolynn’s 40th as
well.

This weekend there is a fly-in fishboil on the
Washington Island. Orchard Country is having a
summer cherry festival with live music . The
county is busy! Until next time.

Maiden Voyage of a Door County Blogger: Lana Hall of Ephraim Shores

Howdy folks. Lana Hall here. I’ve been lucky enough to work at Ephraim Shores for the past 30 years and have lots of good stories to tell about the resort, the village of Ephraim and Door County. I plan on posting several times a week about the doings around Door County; our blog only specials; the great outdoor activities that you can do nearby; our family-friendly restaurant  – The Second Story Restaurant overlooking Eagle Harbor.

If you are in the area of Ephraim on Sunday, June 14 The Village Hall will be filled with the sounds folk music thanks to the 5 Milers. Their tunes include the music of the Kingston Trio, Peter Paul and Mary, The Weavers, We 5, Mamas and Papas, Chad Mitchell Trio, New Christy Minstrels, Limelighters, Bob Dylan, Everly Brothers and a few original tunes. The concert starts at 6PM and ends around 8PM. For more information contact me at Ephraim Shores, 920-854-2371.

That’s it for now. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Father’s Day weekend, June 19-21 for the 45 annual 2009 Fyr Bal Festival. More about that in my next post.
