The business community of Ephraim, Wisconsin is again gearing up for the start of summer in Door County. We are the village that starts the summer season with a festival to welcome visitors from all over. This year is the 46th year for this Scandinavian celebration on the shores of Eagle Harbor in the village of Ephraim, Door County.
We will have childrens games, a pet parade, arts and craft show along the shore line. Scandinavian dancers , a traditional fish boil and the crowning of the festival Chieftain.
The highlight of the evening is watching the Chieftain light the ceremonial fires along the Ephraim shoreline.
Ephraim Shores is taking reservations for the 2010 season via email and telephone. The online reservations will start after the 1st of the new year. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. We may still be digging out in the spring!
Today one of our long time guests is getting
married right here in Ephraim. Kara and her
family have been coming to stay with us since
Kara was very young and they have become
family here at Ephraim Shores. The marriage
will take place at the historic Ephraim Moravian,
which is Lana and Jolynn’s church. We are very
excited for them and happy that they chose
Ephraim and Ephraim Shores for their wedding
destination. Look for Kara and Art’s wedding
photo on a future blog.
On another note, Ephraim Shores and the
Second Story Restaurant are celebrating 40
years of business. We had a float in the 4th of
July parade celebrating this and Jolynn’s 40th as
well.
This weekend there is a fly-in fishboil on the
Washington Island. Orchard Country is having a
summer cherry festival with live music . The
county is busy! Until next time.
One more thing for today. Good luck to our triathletes guests tomorrow!
