Winter is the best time to plan Door County vacations

Ephraim Shores Door County vacations

There’s something to do for every type of vacationer

During the thick of winter, dreaming about — and planning — Door County vacations is a great way to pass the time until it’s summer again (not that we’re trying to wish the winter away here at Ephraim Shores Resort!).

It’s even more exciting when you’ve made the decision to head to the peninsula with your favorite gals on a ladies’ trip. The good news is that Door County vacations — particularly in Ephraim — can be as busy or laid-back as you’d like. There’s no shortage of things to do, sights to take in, and delicious food to eat.

Find new favorite places to make a part of your Door County vacations

If you’re looking for a few places to add to your Door County vacations itinerary, we have several favorites to suggest — many of them within walking distance from Ephraim Shores Resort:

  • Restaurants: Breakfast is as easy as heading upstairs to the Sunset Harbor Grill above the resort, or visiting Good Eggs for a delicious breakfast burrito. For lunch, consider Chef’s Hat, The Summer Kitchen, or Sip. And, dinner can be anything from a locally-inspired and seasonal meal with a great wine list (Trixie’s) to a traditional Door County fish boil at the Old Post Office Restaurant.
  • Coffee & Drink: Visit Isely Coffee for incredible espresso, Bad Moravian for plenty of interesting beers, and Pearl Wine Cottage for a pre-dinner glass of wine and some snacks.
  • Shopping: No matter what you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it in Ephraim. A few of our favorites are Vintique Resale, which offers plenty of home décor and vintage goods; Beach People, the perfect shop to keep the summer vibes flowing, and the Door County Confectionary, a great last stop for purchasing something sweet after a long day of shopping.
  • Galleries: There are many Door County art galleries in Ephraim — Fine Line Designs Gallery at the north end of the village, where you’ll see work from over 90 artists in a variety of mediums. The graffiti-adorned building on Anderson Dock is The Hardy Gallery, a nonprofit arts center that focuses on Door County artists, and Ephraim Clayworks in the Shorewood Village Shops offers a beautiful selection of functional vases, coffee cups, and more.
