Ephraim Shores Resort: your Ephraim beach vacation headquarters
Summer is officially upon us, and if you’re planning an Ephraim vacation over the next few months, what better way to escape the heat than to spend time at the beach?
There are plenty of beaches in Door County, but we’d suggest keeping it simple and heading to Ephraim Beach, especially if you’re staying at Ephraim Shores Resort this summer. We’re less than a mile away from this shallow, family-friendly beach with 175 feet of shoreline — making it easy to drive, walk, or even use our complimentary bikes to pedal over!
Ephraim Beach: In the middle of everything, yet removed from the action
Here are a few reasons why we love Ephraim Beach:
The views: The shore of Ephraim is a great place to take in the views of Eagle Harbor and the bluffs of Peninsula State Park, and this is especially true at Ephraim Beach. The waters near Ephraim Beach are also a favorite spot for boaters, who love to drop anchor and partake in a bit of swimming in calm, shallow waters.
Central location: Located on Highway 42 (also called Water Street), Ephraim Beach is located close to — but not in — downtown Ephraim. And, because the beach itself is set away from the highway by its parking lot and a row of trees, you feel like you’re on your own private island!
Ample parking: Not only does Ephraim Beach have plenty of parking, you’re also able to park your vehicle on Water Street/Highway 42 on the days it’s busy.
Shallow water: Ephraim Beach’s water is shallow and calm, making it a great option for floating on a raft or teaching kids to swim.
Sand, sand, and more sand: Sandy beaches are ideal, especially when you have small children that like to play in the water — you don’t want them hurting themselves by tripping over or cutting themselves on a rock! And, sand means plenty of opportunities to make sandcastles or play with beach toys.
Other amenities: Bike racks, clean public restrooms, a foot wash so you don’t track too much sand into your car, and a drink machine to quench your thirst are just a few of the bonuses at Ephraim Beach.
Close to food and beach necessities: If you need beach basics like sunscreen, towels, and beach toys, Nelson Shopping Center is just south of Ephraim and makes grabbing what you need easy. (And as we locals say, “If it’s not at Nelson’s, you don’t need it!”).
There are plenty of food options nearby, too. The burritos at Good Eggs are a portable option for a late breakfast or lunch, and Prince of Pierogi or Anatolia Cuisine in the Shorewood Village Shops would make for a great pre-beach lunch, too. After the beach, head to Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant for some Door County ice cream!
Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life this summer and immerse yourself in the beauty of Ephraim Beach. After a long day of sun and sand, you’ll be ready to come back and enjoy Ephraim Shores Resort’s relaxed lodging — and enjoy the sunset, of course!
