Ephraim Shores Resort is your festival lodging headquarters

Door County festivals happen on the peninsula all year round — but they’re especially fun in the fall. No matter what you’re looking for in a festival—live music, great food, or plenty of shopping — there is a weekend celebration that fits your style. It also helps that Ephraim Shores Resort is not only conveniently located near many of these festivities but is a great respite away from the festival crowds.

Make sure not to miss these Door County festivals

Looking for a must-attend list of Door County festivals this fall? Here’s what’s at the top of our list:

September Festivals

Held annually over Labor Day weekend, Sister Bay’s Marina Fest has something for everyone. Sample delicious local food (including a pancake breakfast!), take in a concert or two at the Waterfront Park, browse at the arts and crafts fair, and ooh and aah over the incredible fireworks display at the end of the Fest’s first evening.

Other September festivals include Sturgeon Bay’s Harvest Fest (make sure you check out the “Bass Around the Bay” street art project and the classic car show!) and Baileys Harbor’s AutumnFest, which features, among other activities, the Hey Hey 5K running race at Door County Brewing Company.

October Festivals

Fall is in full swing at this point, and no one does fall better than Door County. Egg Harbor’s Pumpkin Patch Festival is one of the largest Door County festivals of the year, complete with more live music, carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors, pumpkin and scarecrow displays at local businesses, kids games and activities, and of course, plenty of food (sensing a theme here?).

Sister Bay’s Fall Festival is another one of our Door County festivals that likely doesn’t need an introduction, with a full three days of activities, including the annual Lions Club Fish Boil, a Fall Fest Parade, and an event favorite: the Ping Pong Ball drop.

And, if an art fair is more your style, make sure to attend the Townline Art Fair, located on the grounds of Ephraim’s Fine Line Designs Gallery. This two-day juried art fair includes the work of over 75 professional artists and is held rain or shine. (We’re committed to our festivals here!)

Late Fall & Winter Festivals

There are plenty of Door County festivals to get you into the holiday spirit this time of year, including:

  • Sister Bay’s Capture the Spirit and Egg Harbor’s Holly Days, both set around Thanksgiving,
  • Ephraim’s Christmas in the Village, scheduled for the first weekend in December, where you’ll enjoy holiday crafts, a visit from Santa, and get the chance to partake in a tree lighting ceremony,
  • The third-annual Door County Christkindlmarkt, where you’ll feel like you’re visiting a traditional European holiday market right here in Wisconsin! If you’re looking to cross “shopping in Door County” off your list, you’re in luck — there are plenty of opportunities to purchase gifts for loved ones (or yourself!) at this new market that’s quickly becoming a winter visitor favorite.

These are just a few of our many favorite fall Door County festivals. Regardless of the season or reason, Ephraim Shores Resort is excited to welcome you all year long!
